The London Jazz Orchestra

 —  —

The Vortex, 11 Gillett Square, London

Spend an uplifting Easter Day with the London Jazz Orchestra at their monthly Vortex residency, now in its 32nd wonderful year.

This month they highlight new music by two of our outstanding composer-soloist members, Martin Speake and Calum Gourlay. Martin, well known for his inventive alto sax soloing and for the many groups he leads, also writes life-enhancing tunes, and the LJO will feature them in arrangements by Pete Saberton and Charlie Rees. Bassist Calum Gourley, who joined the LJO in January, has already produced a wealth of new pieces for the band, featuring great soloists including Alcyona Mick, piano, saxophonists Pete Hurt and Mick Foster, and trombonist Martin Gladdish.

Check them out close-hand!
